WoW Moviewatch: We Three Dwarves

For a while, Oxhorn was doing a great job commemorating each holiday with an Oxhorn short. I guess I never even realized that he was missing Brewfest . Thankfully, Oxhorn did realize it and opted to rectify the issue. This is especially exciting since Oxhorn has been busy with a day job and not able to produce as much machinima as he once had. I really loved We Three Dwarves . Oxhorn has adapted it into a serviceable, rejoicing song celebrating that finest of adult beverages: beer. I can totally see a rowdy group of friends sitting around Ironforge singing “beer of wonder, beer delight.” My hat’s off to Oxhorn for getting this video in right on time for Brewfest. Hopefully, this means that we might get to see more from the musical maestro in the future. Interested in the wide world of machinima ? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch ! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Toss us an email at moviewatch@wowinsider.com . Patch 4.3 PTR: New valor point weekly caps, dungeon point rewards

The new 5-man instances, End Time , Well of Eternity , and Hour of Twilight , now award 150 valor points for each random completed, up to seven per week. The valor point cap per week has been increased to 1,000 points — but interestingly, the cap for using the random Dungeon Finder is higher than the actual cap. This could be a bug, or it could be intended to allow players to gain that extra 50 valor points through the Dungeon Finder, but I’m assuming that things just aren’t complete (because after all, this is the PTR). End Time, the first instance in the sequential set of 5-mans, took my group about 20 to 25 minutes to make our way through. Three bosses and only about seven to eight trash packs later, we were happily finished and 150 valor points richer. This time frame is radically different than the Zul’ heroics we are currently used to, making the play experience, in my experience, more fulfilling in a shorter amount of time. We have not yet run the other two dungeons, but if they are as streamlined as End Time, valor points will be a less stressful experience in the future. We will have more information as it becomes available. Brace yourselves for what could be some of most exciting updates to the game recently with patch 4.3 . Review the official patch notes , and then dig into what’s ahead: new item storage options , cross-realm raiding , cosmetic armor skinning and your chance to battle the mighty Deathwing — from astride his back ! The Queue: PTR day is a fun day

Welcome back to The Queue , the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft . Mat McCurley will be your host today. Since my job is working for WoW Insider, today is what we call a busy work day. Why? Well, friends, the PTR is up and patch 4.3 is live thereon. I’ll be running dungeons, filming movies, and taking questions all day about the new content. This is what we call fun. I’m working my hardest and fastest to get videos of the new instances up and ready for your viewing pleasure. Damn you, upload speeds. Badmedecine asked: When do you think the other T13′s will be revealed? Very soon. Datamining of the new patch files on the PTR has revealed most of the new sets , so Blizzard will want to get its own official previews up in the near future. Expect them soon. Around Azeroth: The cat always knows

Poor Majordomo Executus ! Murdered by his boss for not being able to defeat 40 dudes armed to the teeth, then replaced by that annoying Fandral Staghelm — he’s had a rough time of it in this game. Tired of being killed over and over again, he thought he could hide from the wrath of the resurgent Ragnaros by cleverly disguising himself as a hunter. But he was sniffed out by his suspicious pet and executed yet again by his old boss. (Thanks to Eliott of Evil League O Evil on Aerie Peak [US-A] for the screenshot.) Patch 4.3 PTR: Shaman class changes

Patch 4.3 is now up on the PTR, as well as the official patch 4.3 patch notes . With the latest build comes a rather large amount of changes for shaman of all three talent specializations. Some come as no shock; others were things I don’t think many of us planned on seeing. Everything, though, seems aimed at bringing balance back to the class on every front. As always, we look at the upcoming changes for any patch with both excitement and trepidation. Will our changes make a difference for the better or the worse? Are they buffs or are they nerfs? Will we finally get that spectral moose we were promised so long ago? As always, remember that these changes are tentative, and since they are on the test realm, they are subject to change at any time that the developers at Blizzard Entertainment feel they should change. So what’s in store, and what does it mean for shaman? Jump after the cut for the full list. Breakfast Topic: What holiday does Azeroth still need?

This Breakfast Topic has been brought to you by Seed , the AOL guest writer program that brings your words to WoW Insider’s pages. I won’t lie: I’ve resubbed to WoW for Brewfest. No joke. I don’t even drink in real life, but I love Azeroth’s in-game event. The fun toys, the celebration, getting folks together to do things in game that aren’t just for progression but for fun … Sure, some events get revamped, but there are some dead spots on the calendar. Wouldn’t it be cool to have St. Patrick’s Day in March, to ease the lull between the Love is in the Air and Noblegarden events? Make it some sort of Goblin celebration (neutral Goblins, not Horde). The real-world counterpart’s largely a secular holiday these days, so all we need is some green and drinking. Perhaps a celebration of some Goblin businessman finding enough money to start the Steamwheedle Cartel?. Heck, maybe even make it so we can actually visit a small portion of the Undermine until Blizz wants to fully flesh it out; make it a holiday dungeon where we save Undermine from something Deathwing woke up. Or maybe something new altogether … August is kind of a dead month, and since summers are slow anyway, why not spice things up? Perhaps an Azerothian Scholars holiday honoring prominent members of the WoW community, from addon creators and theorycrafters to people who try to help make the official WoW forums useful. Other games do bonus XP weekends, so WoW could have something like that, where honor, justice points, loot drops and so on could be increased for a few days and load screens have the names of players who’ve stood out in the community. What kind of holiday would you like to see added to WoW ? Explorer’s Day? Teacher Appreciation Day? Tigule and Foror Ice Cream Day? Patch 4.3 PTR: Hunters, do not be alarmed

Within minutes of the release of patch 4.3 datamined info on Wowhead and MMO-Champion, hunters have been reacting with alarm at the increased cast time of Steady Shot , Cobra Shot , and Aimed Shot and gasping in awe at the change to nature damage to Chimera Shot . Do not be alarmed — these aren’t really happening. What you’re seeing in the datamined files are tooltip updates. Steady Shot and Cobra Shot have always been 2-second casts. They are right now. Aimed Shot is indeed currently a 2.9-second base cast. And Chimera Shot does indeed do nature damage already . These are not changes to hunter abilities, but just the files finally catching up to report correctly on the way it’s always been. Also the Kill Shot change is also a tooltip update rather than a buff. The only change so far is the increased attack power for melee folks from our Trueshot Aura buff, as well as from all the other classes that provide it — oh, and the addition of a nice endgame raiding gun , at long last. Assuming it doesn’t later turn into a crossbow or daggers or something. Brace yourselves for what could be some of most exciting updates to the game recently with patch 4.3 . Look at what’s ahead: new item storage options , cross-realm raiding , cosmetic armor skinning and your chance to battle the mighty Deathwing — from astride his back !
