Not because it’s full of substantive criticism about the class, but just because it’s got lots of references meant for literary nerds like me. The styles of Kafka, Shakespeare, Camus, Wilde, and Douglas Adams (who fits in that crowd, right?) all make appearances as players combine old literary quotes with the plight of Fury Warriors. And when Pynchon shows up on page 3 , then the rails really go off the tracks. But it is a lot of fun. Because if you’re going to QQ, you might as well do it in style, right? “Ghostcrawler believed in the perfect Fury build, the orgiastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but that’s no matter — tomorrow we will run faster, stretch our arms our further… And one fine morning — So we grind on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.” Forum Post of the Day: Great Warrior literature originally appeared on WoW Insider on Thu, 12 Mar 2009 17:00:00 EST. Guildox is a site that tracks raiding progression solely based on earned raiding achievements — they check the Armory entry of your guild, and then add them to a list of who’s toppled which instances and when . But they recently sent us a note about some overall data , and it’s fascinating. Below the pulldown bar of the achievement listings on their site, you’ll find an “achievement rate” stat. That is the percentage of guilds who’ve completed the selected achievement as compared to the number of guilds in their system who’ve completed any of the 10 or 25-man raiding achievements. In essence, that’s the percentage of guilds raiding who’ve completed that achievement. And the toughest achievement in the game right now is The Immortal , which requires you to get 25 people through Naxx without dying once. Only about 1.5% of guilds raiding have finished that one. After that, it’s Heroic: You Don’t Have an Eternity (take out Malygos in six minutes ), and Heroic: Shocking! (bring down Thaddius without crossing charges ). The hardest 10-man achievement is the non-Heroic version of the Malygos timed achievement — The Undying actually isn’t too bad, with almost 20% of guilds having attained it. More after the break, including information on the easiest raiding achievements. Most people know by now that I love Achievements . I also love world events. Adding new and interesting things to do during world events and tying them to achievements sounds just great to me. Initially when I saw that Patch 3.1 would add achievements to Noblegarden , I thought that must mean 3.1 will come out before the event, which is currently scheduled for April 12-18. Makes sense right? Well, I was wrong. Kisirani has let us know via blue post that the developers’ plan is to simply delay Noblegarden should 3.1 not be ready before then. That makes more sense. What has me excited, though, is that after the patch, Noblegarden will be a true world event, Blizzard style. Looking at the list of Noblegarden Achievments and seeing a hint that egg hunting will be “a wee bit different this year,” the event seems like it is going to have much more interactivity than in previous years. Before, players would have to find eggs hidden in the starting areas in hopes of finding a dress . Not a great reward, but something that is good for collectors and roleplayers. According to the achivement list, this year’s Noble Gardeners are going to hide eggs , place rabbit ears , plant flowers , find love , and of course eat chocolates as part of the event. As the meta-achievement for Noblegarden is going to be part of the meta-meta-achivement, What a Long, Strange Trip It’s Been that rewards a 310% speed Violet Proto-Drake , I’ll be ready to hunt down eggs all week long, whenever 3.1 comes out. Filed under: Hunter , Patches , NPCs Beast Masters around the world, rejoice! A new species of Spirit Beast has been tracked down on the Patch 3.1 PTR, which should alleviate the hunt around Sholazar Basin. This is a real Spirit Beast, by the way, and not the wooden (albeit wonderful) pull-toy that BRK has available through his site. The white tiger-skinned Gondria is a Level 77 rare elite that can be found in Zul’drak, presumably as difficult to pursue as the leopard-like Loque’nahak . According to Beast Lore , Gondria will have Spirit Strike , the Moonfire-like ability unique to Spirit Beasts. Personally, I didn’t care much for the spotted Loque’nahak, although I’m sure Matthew’s wife disagrees vehemently. This ghostly (spectral?) white tiger looks much sexier, I think, and would go right along with the game’s most expensive mount or its aspirational knock-off . So Hunters, you had all better get a lay of the land in Zul’drak, because as soon as Patch 3.1 comes out, the game will be afoot… New Spirit Beast discovered on the PTR originally appeared on WoW Insider on Thu, 12 Mar 2009 16:00:00 EST.
