Ulduar10 Emblem Loophole

Blizzard has recently announced some new badge information that are upsetting for a lot of 10 man raiders. There has been pages and pages of debate on this subject matter everywhere such as Wowinsider.com . The issue is that Ulduar10 badges are going to drop [Emblem of Valor] , which is a 25-man raid emblem right now. They are upset that this is a recycled emblem used for recycled gear, which if they were 10-man only raiders, they would have never had access to in the first place. In addition, T8 tokens cannot be bought with Ulduar10 emblems, but Ulduar25 emblems can be used to buy 2 pieces of T8.5. This just adds is like adding salt to the wound, we can see why Ulduar10 raiders are going to be unhappy. Whatever your opinion on the matter is, this is probably how it is going to be. Blizzard may change this design, but in the mean time let’s come up with ways to adapt and work around it instead of complaining. Emblems are Pure Gold This is nothing new, emblems can be traded down and eventually for orbs and gems. These items can then be sold on the auction house, which have a good chance of retaining their value and possibly even go up when Ulduar is released. Gold is the universal currency of WoW and can be traded for goods and services. A common complaint about Ulduar10 badges is that they can only buy ilevel 213 items, which are a few points lower than what drops in Ulduar10 (219, 226 for hard modes). However, once Ulduar10 raiders accumulate enough badges, they can be exchanged for gold. This gold can be used to buy the new BOE (219-226) gear. Granted this may take a while, but this is a logical way to avoid spending badges on old ilevel 213 items from the [Emblem of Valor] quartermaster. I still believe that players will still buy some of these items because if they were 10-man only raiders, they would only be wearing mostly ilevel 200 items. So the majority of the emblem gear should be upgrades, there is even T7.5 on the vendor. The other side of the argument is that Ulduar10 will be dropping higher ilevel gear, making their emblem gear undesirable. Blizzard have stated that ilevel is not everything and some classes will say that they are using ilevel 200 items because they are best in slot for them, like the [Darkmoon Card: Greatness] . As for those that have tons of [Emblem of Valor] stockpiled, we recommend that you try and sell the BOE bracers with them for profit before those emblems lose their value. Ulduar Patterns These patterns drop exclusively in Ulduar25 however they are BOE and the items crafted from them are BOE as well. We have seen some of these types of recipes back in T5/6 content too. What this means for Ulduar10 raiders who want a higher item level, they could purchase these items and even the pattern on the auction house. This can also apply to people who have the gold or are Ulduar25 raiders who don’t want to pay DKP for the patterns. There is even a possibility that one could buy the pattern, purchase the materials, and sell the crafted item for a decent profit. With these patterns alone, there are 18 new ilevel 226 pieces of gear Ulduar10 raiders can buy. It looks like it comes down to about 2 pieces for your specific spec. If you choose to craft these on your own or even for profit, you will need to get a hold of 6 [Runed Orb] ’s per recipe. These orbs only drop in Ulduar25 and are also available on the [Emblem of Conquest] quartermaster for 18 emblems. They will also be on the auction house soon after Ulduar is released and plan on seeing them at very high prices for the first few weeks. Lets say for example these new crafted BOE epics cost 3000g on the auction house and your server has [Scarlet Ruby] for 75g. This means you will need 400 emblems, that will be exchanged for 40 [Scarlet Ruby] ’s, which will then be sold for 3000g total, so you can buy that ilevel 226 BOE item. These numbers are just educated guess, we have no idea how much the new wave of BOE epics will cost on the auction house. This is one way to put those Ulduar10 badges towards a Ulduar25 quality piece of gear. ilevel 226 BOE Epics In addition to the crafted BOE epics from Ulduar patters, there will be other ones dropping from Ulduar10 and 25 raids. This design is already implemented in Naxx10/25 already. They drop a few BOE epics that can be sold for profit. Ulduar has this same design. So far we have found 12 ilevel 226 ones and 3 ilevel 219, including the famous [Phaelia's Vestments of the Sprouting Seed] ( Source ). MMO-Champion has reported a lot of the new Ulduar loot, but have stated there may still be 200+ more undocumented ones. Over time we expect BOE epics to fall in price as they have been doing for the past few months. By that time, the Ulduar10 emblems you are converting into gold should be enough to purchase some of these BOE epics. Obviously regardless of your raiding status, if you have the gold, you can just buy these BOE’s on your own. Emalon the Storm Watcher There will be a new Wintergrasp boss in 3.1. This is very similar to Archavon on live. A new wing will be added to the current raid and will have a 10 and 25 version. Emalon’s loot table has not been finalized yet and haven’t even been spotted on the PRT. However the loot system will be like Archavon’s. Expect a few pieces of the new Furious Gladiator PvP gear and your T8/8.5 to drop here. If Ulduar10 raiders want access to T8 outside of Ulduar10, here it is. You can complain all you want about your class gear not dropping, but this is a very easy way to obtain high level PvP gear or T8/8.5. The 25-man version will most likely be puggable, so now you have a chance at Ulduar25 gear that you wouldn’t normally have access too. Gear is everywhere in this expansion, some may say we have been spoiled by how easy it is to obtain gear.
