Simply Enchanting: From a fleck to a pearl

Recently, we have just received a mail seeking from help, which I will reproduce here: Hey I’m A Newbie With 4 Months experience Of World Of Warcraft. I Have Two Classes, A DK (71) And A Warrior (62). I Need Some Advice As far As Making A Lot Of Money Fast For My flying Mount And Dual Specialization. I Use My DK For grinding But It Soooo Slow. I Am Currently Working On My Warriors epic Gear through Battle Grounds and The Grand Marshal Sword. What Should I Do To get More Gold Fast. I’ve Heard of Selling The Siren’s Tear At Auctions Give U 75 Gold But I’m Not Good At Selling at The Auction House. I Don’t Know -Brandon Well, making 8000 gold won’t be an easy task if you’re just starting out and you have no experience with the auction house. Not everyone can be like Gevlon, who has just hit the goal cap! but lets make small steps and try working towards that seemingly impossible goal! Brandon, you mentioned that Siren’s Tear move for about 75 gold on your Auction House, which is pretty high considering that I’ve seen it go from 18 – 60 gold for some of the servers I have been on. If so, it might be a pretty good start if you have some stocked up, or have some winterfin clams. There are basically two good ways to obtain siren’s tear, one is the old method of farming winterfin clams, it takes me about 24 minutes to farm 100 winterfin clams, with a good chance of obtaining extra northsea pearls, succulent clam meat, and maybe even a siren’s tear from the drops of the mobs in the area. If you’re wondering how to go about it, there’s a really good video here on this very site that you will want to look at . The other way is if you happen to have fishing levelled up high enough, if so, simply take the dalaran portal from wintergrasp (if you have reached lvl 74 by now, although I think you might have been 80 for quite a while? :D ) You are able to fish Giant Clams there, that have a much higher chance to drop Siren’s Tears. The good thing about those two above strategies, is that while they do not have spectacular gold per hour, they are easy to partake in if you have limited playtime or you can only spend a few minutes each session. Since you need to go quite a long way in gold gathering, I will share with you my personal secret of re-valuing siren’s tear, something which prices has dropped steadily across the 7 months, into something much more valuable, that can sell from 130 gold to 200! It is a trick that I have held safeguarded for a very long while. Firstly, it would be easier if you are an enchanter, if not, offer to tip an enchanter 5 gold over trade chat for the transmutation that is about to take place. Basically, what you need to do is to find a cheap siren’s tear, or use your own, and buy/make 4 infinite dusts. Following that, you will convert them into an Enchanted Tear, an item that is very useful for plenty of classes and specs as it provides so many stats, not to mention being a prismatic gem, which means it helps towards meta-gem criteria. If you’re attractive enough on the outside, people will forgive you for being irritating to the core. – From Despair, Inc Place an irritating infinite dust in an oyster, and out pops a wonderful enchanted pearl! Once you have it, simply sell it on your Auction house at 5-15 gold below the lowest competitor. I recommend you check the day’s auction house for enchanted tear first before buying siren’s tear if you’re purchasing instead of using one that you have farmed. A sample gold log will go as follows. You look at the AH and you see Enchanted Tear going for 165 gold You see siren’s tear being sold for 75 gold You purchase the siren’s tear as well as the 4 infinite dust ( infinite dusts normally go for 4-5 gold each) You then ask in trade chat for an enchanter to convert your materials into an enchanted tear at a 5 gold tip. Now you would have spent 99 gold. List it in the Auction House for 149 gold, do not despair if it does not sell immediately, be patient and list it again if someone tries to undercut you. Once you sell it, you’ll make 43 gold after Auction House cut. If your server conditions are good, you can probably do this 2-3 times a day for an easy 120 gold for 15 minutes of work. If you yourself happen to have the enchanting profession, here’s an extra way to make extra money on the side in a similar fashion. There happens to be a lesser version of the enchanted tear, that is, the enchanted pearl. It is created by using a northsea pearl and one infinite dust. Northsea pearls go for 1-2 gold on ALL the servers I play on, so add it to infinite dust and its a 5g to 7g raw material cost for a enchanted pearl that can be sold for 20 to 35 gold normally. It sells at a decent rate, and gives you the same gold returns as doing dailies, but in the comfort of your Auction House and mailbox circuit. And this is it on your episode of simply enchanting, stay tuned as we go through different ways to start making your gold mountain and build further upon it, enhancing your knowledge of wow economics as you go! Sherry Faith is always busy researching new gold ideas, especially now with the immense guild repair costs from ulduar wearing down on her reserves. You can read more about her fiduciary exploits here at her personal site where she talks about making gold on medivh .
