So this week has been exam week for me. Haven’t had enough time to sit down and write a Market Watch for the week, as all my free WoW time has been spent in game on a quest for a Turtle (which I got!) or in Ulduar, which was great! Hey warcraftecon, I need some advice in gold making.  The server I am on is low population.  The AH is rarely used, because its a server where guild members help each other.  So I basically have to cut AH playing out of gold making.  The only other way I can see to make gold is dailies.  Is this the only way?  Or can you save me. -Glykeria First off, let me say that Glykeria my friend, you are in a tough situation. Low population servers are really tricky to keep a good income and probably why I tend to stay off them. Also, I commend your efforts for helping out your guild. It’s always good to be a team player. With that said, I understand your dilemma. It’s hard to take the Auction House completely out of the equation and still make a substantial income. However, I think there are still a few ways. I’m going assume that sense you don’t really use your Auction House, that you probably don’t have gathering professions.  Or if you do, everything you gather goes to the guilds bank. If that is the case, see if you can get a payout from the guild for supplies that you’ve donated to help offset your raiding costs. If your professions are crafting professions, then hit the trade channels. Advertise your skills and on a low population server the tips will start walking your way. Also, try to invest in a recipe that a lot of other crafters don’t have. As a JC, Luminous Monarch Topaz and Runed Scarlet Ruby come to mind. If you could corner the market on one specific item you can make, or gem you can cut, you could make a nice profit just in tips. My second suggestion is more questing. I know that probably isn’t what you want to hear, but it can be a substantial income. That’s not just daily quests either. A reader wrote a guest post on the topic a few months back which you can find here “ Alts and Questing ”. My suggestion if you have already finished the Northrend quests, is to role an alt. I would personally chose a hunter just because in my experience they can solo almost anything. Use this alt just to quest for gold. Maybe even use recruit a friend and get him up to 60 quicker, as Outland quests pay a pretty good amount for the work involved. The same goes with Northrend. Remember though, once you hit 60, it’s not a race to 80. Just do all the quests. Your goal is to earn gold while leveling, and completing all the quests along the way is a great way to do so. I also suggest that you never keep more then 100-200 gold in the characters bags. Send any excess over to a bank alt for safe keeping. This way you don’t get tempted to splurge on that enchant or shiny new bow. So Glykeria, I think a combination of these ideas would probably have you making pretty good income while not being able to use the Auction House.  I wish you the very best in your tough economy!
