Patch 3.1 Preparation (Part II)

“In our 3.1.0 class updates post, we had announced plans to remove consumable ammunition from the game upon the release of the next major content patch. Our original plans were to change ammunition so that hunters would no longer need to utilize bag space, while adding some new functionality that would continue to make ammunition a compelling element of gameplay. Unfortunately, this intended change will not be completely ready in time for patch 3.1.0.” “We still fully intend to move forward with this change when the additional functionality becomes available, and for 3.1.0 we still intend to remove the need for pouches/quivers by greatly increasing the stack sizes on arrows and bullets, and the haste bonus from the bags will be preserved in another fashion. We’ll be sure to inform our players with further updates once they become available.” ( Source ) Hunter’s are rejoicing everywhere, this is a change most thought would never happen. The new change frees up an extra bag slot for hunters as well as space that ammo takes up. With the removal of quivers/ammo pouches and consumable arrows/bullets, this means less profit for Leatherworkers and Engineers. Not that these items bring in huge income right now, they still are profitable. This is a good time to liquidate these items and unload them on the auction house while they still have a use. I am still crafting [Dragonscale Ammo Pouch] and [Nerubian Reinforced Quiver]  in the mean time for a return of double my investment. At worst, the mats will cost about 40g and the item will sell for at least 80g. These aren’t exactly flying off the shelves, but one sells about every 2 days, I consider this just another source of income. As we get closer to patch 3.1, I expect this to change. As many of you auction house players know, there is this “invisible” cut off date for items that are going to be so called discontinued. I intend to keep crafting them as long as people are buying them as well as slowing down production to about one every 2 days. Although not all the intended changes are going to be released with 3.1, they still are trying to remove quivers/ammo pouches by increasing stack size on arrows and bullets as well as granting the haste bonus from bags in some other way. So we can expect that no hunters will be buying ammo bags during the new patch. Just in case you missed it; Patch 3.1 Preparation Part I
