Getting eaten by a dragon isn’t the most pleasant way to go, but it does have a certain panache that other in-game deaths lack. For example, getting blasted in the back by an NPC mage while trying to run back to town probably isn’t going to get you a statue in the Exodar. And no one is going to write a eulogy of “Here lies Steve, who autoran into the ocean while making a peanut butter sandwich.” Why not go out with a splash?
