Hornstradamus’ predictions for the year 2009 (year of the melee on Azerothian calendar): warlock nerfs . We all know it’s coming, even tho we’re at the bottom of the food chain at the moment. 7. Drain spells through pillars Will most certainly be removed. Sure, perhaps it doesn’t make sense to drain players health and mana through various objects, but there’s a lot of stuff in this game that don’t make sense either. The devs will fall for the massive cries on the PvP forums eventually. 6. Metamorphosis Metamorphosis is possibly the only spell keeping us from ignoring PvP completely at this point is exactly the one which will get nerfed to ground, rightfully so. Immolation Aura is stupidly awesome, and even though you can simply get out of range there’s always plenty of rogues, hunters, paladins, warriors, mages, shaman, priests, death knights and druids who will QQ about it. 5. Demonic Circle and line of sight Another line of sight issue which will most certainly be “fixed” as soon as the badgers start spinning the wheels at Blizz HQ. On one hand Demonic Circle is imbalanced, but on the other the spell doesn’t have that many uses so there’s no point in killing the joy. Well, at least from our point of view. 4. DoTs will disappear when we die Even though they kill us, we often have our revenge even after we’re dead since our DoTs keep ticking. This is yet another serious nerf which again does and doesn’t make sense. I’m surprised it actually lasted 4 years, but don’t worry, Ghostcrawler will put an end to it soon enough! 3. Seed of Corruption Probably the best AoE nuke in the game, and without a doubt the one which brought the most smiles on our faces in the last couple of years, Seed of Corruption is doomed for a nerf. 2. Lifetap Image credit: Mystic Chicanery Blizzard tried pulling this off once of twice before but we vigorously QQed (please click it!) and fortunately one of the best spells in our arsenal is still useful. Life Tap did get nerfed in PvP which was the original evil scheme, but with the recent itemization changes and scaling with spirit it’s 200% overpowered in raids. Mage QQ will make it happen, believe me! 1. Fear Seriously, did you really think Fear won’t be nerfed? Blizz never needed a reason to nerf fear before and they sure don’t need one now. I’m guessing the devs are laughing their ass off each time they stealth nerf one of our spells, and Fear is probably number one on their list. – There you go, those are my happy thoughts for the next year. Hopefully we’ll stick around for another great year and see it happen!
