Blizzard has announced today the pandaren mount coming in Mists of Pandaria is called the Dragon Turtle. They're large, scaled turtles with a bit of a dragon-like feel to them. They are ground mounts, which will be needed to roam around Pandaria while leveling from 85 to 90. While Blizzard doesn't explicitly say that these will be obtainable by other races through a reputation grind, it's safe to assume that'll be the case. I for one can't wait to get one on my human warlock. Check out Blizzard's full announcement post after the break.
Every week, WoW Insider brings you Encrypted Text for assassination , combat and subtlety rogues. Chase Christian will be your guide to the world of shadows every Wednesday. Feel free to email me with any questions or article suggestions you'd like to see covered here. Like many of you, I've been playing a monk all week. Every minute of my free time has been spent using my fists to dole out some serious justice. I've been alternating between twirling a staff and a pair of bladed fist weapons. Monks are a lot of fun to play. I'm not talking about our furry panda friends from Pandaria, but rather the master martial artists from Sanctuary. While there are plenty of pandaren monk abilities that I wouldn't mind borrowing, the Diablo III monk's arsenal is quite appealing. Due to our mutual focus on martial arts, several of their techniques would fit right into our toolbox. There might not be any poisonous strikes or sneaky stabbing going on, but we're adept at kicking and punching as well.
Welcome back to The Queue , the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft . Adam Holisky ( @adamholisky ) will be your host today. Queue, I need your help. I need the heroic Lightning Rod to drop for my warlock tonight. See, the problem is that it dropped once and went to a player who has subsequently not raided. Not complaining about that, he's a nice guy. But ... it's like it's not going to drop for me, ever. I'm sitting at the top of the EPGP charts by far, and when this baby drops, it's going to be mine. So can you all send some good loot love my way and make it drop tonight when we kill Ms. Wolf Hat? If you do, I promise to write you another Queue tomorrow. And if it doesn't drop ... you're getting that LOLcat Queue I promised a while back. PhilDGiles asked: Have you ever answered a Q4Q with "absolutely" or "absolutely not" and it turns out to be the opposite? XD Continue reading The Queue: Help me, Queue, you're my only hope!
If you haven’t been keeping up with the little beta changes and updates that have been going on, there’s something you should know. Don’t worry, it isn’t as game breaking as Spirit Shell having it’s mechanics reworked or anything. Our Purify (formerly known as Dispel) now has a a rather large 8 second cooldown attached to it. I get the need to cut down on Dispel’s usage. PvP needs to be made a little more exciting and what not. The PvE ramifications are just as important. In a party Shado-pan Monastary is one of the new instances that opened up with a minimum requirement of level 87. Inside the instance, there was a fair number of mobs that had some sort of magic debuff that would afflict members of my party. On the boss encounters, I noticed any debuffs were applied one or two at a time. I dispelled one quickly and responded with steady, mana neutral Heal to maintain that player’s health. If the party started taking AoE damage, I targeted the debuff affected player and casted Prayer of Healing and would switch between single target and Prayer of Healing as necessary. I could use Mass Dispel . Technically between Mass Dispel and Dispel, I can rely on them to remove debuffs if they’re applied one after the other. Doing that is going to be costly to your mana. Depending on the debuff duration, it might be better off to dispel one person and then heal the other until their debuffs expire. Haven’t tried a raid environment yet. All I know is if current boss mechanics were coupled with Mists Dispel mechanics, we’re all in deep trouble. There’d be no way we could blanket remove negative magic in time without resorting to Mass Dispel. Blizzard developers would need to scale back and be a little more critical when it comes to any debuff inducing bosses. Ultimately, we just need to play smart with our dispels. The option of not dispelling a player in favor of healing them may well be a necessary strategy to adopt depending on what new raid bosses are like. Solutions Let’s classify magic debuffs into two major categories. When responding against debuffs, you need to get a little creative and look at ways to bail out your players. Ideal solution? Simple dispel. But assuming your dispel is now on cooldown, what’s your next choice? Impairment This refers to any ability to hinders your character from doing anything. This means any slow, any stun, a freeze, or control loss. Frostflake Frostnova With your allies stuck, they need to get out of a bad situation pronto. Let’s say Jeremy is frozen in place after a Frost Nova . They can’t move and they have no way of breaking themselves out. You, being the smart player that you are, dispelled yourself first . There happens to be a giant shadow underneath Jeremy which indicates a large meteor is about to squish him in half. Mentally, you know that meteor is going to crush him before your Dispel is available for use. You can use Leap of Faith to extract him. If that’s not available, drop a Pain Suppression and pray that’s enough to ward that meteor. Find a way to move the player, if possible. If you can’t give them a movement boost, look for a way to ensure that they survive through it. Damage Any debuff that inflicts damage. This could be any DoT, a delayed nuke, etc. Fungal Spores Disrupting Shadows Your allies are about to experience some large dents in their health pool. You can’t get that debuff off of them. Your only option is to brute force heal the players through it until the debuff expires on it’s own. If you don’t think your rate of healing can level off or offset the rate of damage, then resort to a cooldown. Guardian Spirit is a perfect insurance spell. Speaking of bugs, I’m not sure if this is intended or not. The 8 second cooldown on Purify only triggers if a negative debuff is removed. I can spam Purify on myself without any debuffs without tripping the 8 second cooldown. Or is that intended? I can’t remember. "You miss 100% of the shots you never take." - Wayne Gretzky Thanks for reading a post from World of Matticus ! Check out the Matticast , the official companion podcast!

Druids, man -- they have all the fun. They get to be bears, big cats, sea lions, birds, and, umm, owlbeasts? I'm not sure on the last one. Let's just stick with moonkin. But some of the rest of us can shapeshift, too! If you're a worgen, the animation shifting between your true form and your human form is pretty cool, and that's a shapeshift that doesn't require druidic skills. But there are many other shapeshifting opportunities in WoW . You can be a skeleton, if you're lucky, with a Noggenfogger Elixir . You can be a bat, as per the header image, with a Bat Costume . You can be a pirate with a Savory Deviate Delight or a huge Naga with Bones of Transformation . There are a many other shapeshifting effects, but my very favorite has to be the Potion of Illusion . I loved it before I read Anne's article, and I love it even more since then! What's brilliant about it is stealing other people's appearances -- transmogs, character looks, you name it. I love using it in raids on people who are AFK and /dancing with them. One day, I'm hoping my entire raid will steal one character's identity for a photo. What's your favorite shapeshift? Were you also converted to the Potion of Illusion by Anne's writeup? Are you a die-hard fan of the Noggenfogger's pot-luck powers? Or is it the pirate life for you?
WoW Insider covers the world of player vs. player action in Blood Sport for fans of Battleground, world PvP and Arena play. Steering you to victory is Olivia Grace , who never clicks anything but her fingers. My last column dealt with the basics of macros and focus targets and their use in PvP. This time, we're tackling an even more heady topic, one that is arguably even more key to PvP success than macros and the use of focus targets. This article is a rare occasion when I will assert that one course of action is better than another! Clicking is a tricky subject. People may be surprised to see it in the title up there hanging out right next other key PvP skills. I would like to say that, with one caveat that will come up later, I wouldn't encourage clicking in PvP. First and foremost, what is clicking? When PvPers (and for that matter, probably PvEers) talk about clicking, they are referring to the practice of putting your abilities on your bars and clicking them with your mouse. In order to do this and move at the same time, you pretty much have to move with your keyboard. OK, so now that it's completely clear what clicking is, why is it bad? First and foremost, let's look at movement. Moving with your keyboard is slow. It's really slow. If you don't believe me, stand your character still and spin through 180 degrees with your keyboard. Now do the same with your mouse. Much faster! Rather like the difference between a d-pad and a thumb joystick on a console controller, mouse movement is far more intuitive, far easier to fine tune and far faster.
Work warning: The song's about ERP . Now, the lyrics are actually fairly tame and the graphics don't show particularly naughty bits, especially when you consider that we're talking about ERP -- but still, it's about ERP. Night Elf ERP by Sharm and Khayllys tackles that naughty center of WoW 's roleplay world: ERP. That's the adult version of roleplay, and I'm not going to explain it much deeper than that. The song manages to avoid being a long homage to Goldshire , though you can't talk about this subject without at least mentioning the inn there. This video was fantastic. I loved it. It was funny, lighthearted, and gorgeous. It maintains this sense of self-deprecation that takes the bite off its lyrics. Sharm's vocals bring the beauty, and Khallys really put forth some glittering eye candy. My hat's off to you. Interested in the wide world of machinima ? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch ! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Toss us an email at moviewatch@wowinsider.com .
